STUDENTS
EMPOWERING STUDENTS (SES)
Students Empowering Students (SES) continues the student/mentor relationships forged in SEA Semester. Mentors from SEA Semester recruit additional high school
students to serve as role models for the program graduates. Each mentor is
paired with one of the younger students. They meet after school, each week,
to help
develop the younger students’ interest in the sciences, and offer support.
SES students earn monthly field trips for their dedication to their mentor,
and the program. These field trips range from visits to the Scripps Institute
of
Oceanography to Kayak explorations to find sea turtles in the San Diego Bay.
